This typical early ‘80s French thriller proved to be a huge success for its producer and lead actor, Alain Delon. The film was based on a successful novel by the writer Jean-Patrick Manchette, who is credited as being the father of the néo-polar genre. Delon is – yet again – cast in the kind of role in which he excels, a strong-willed outsider with an unbreakable instinct to survive. Although by this stage in his career, Delon’s film portrayals tended to be restricted to the image he fashioned for himself in the mid 1970s, he was still capable of turning in some extraordinary physical performances, as Trois hommes à abattre amply testifies.

The film was directed by Jacques Deray who was responsible for some of the most commercially successful policiers of the 1970s and 1980s. Deray’s crime thrillers compare well with – and often surpass – their American counterparts, in both dramatic content and style. Trois hommes à abattre is quite possibly Deray’s darkest, most suspenseful – and bloodiest – thriller. It also has some impressive production values – the actions stunts are well choreographed and the nocturnal photography is genuinely chilling.

"Salome's last dance" is a 1988 film by British film director, Ken Russell. Although most of the action is a verbatim performance of Oscar Wilde's 1893 play Salome, which is itself based on a story from the New Testament, there is also a framing narrative written by Russell himself. Wilde (Nickolas Grace) and his lover Lord Alfred Douglas (Douglas Hodge) arrive late on Guy Fawkes Day at their friend's brothel, where they are treated to a surprise staging of Wilde's play, public performances of which have just been banned in England by the Lord Chamberlain's office.

In the play, all the roles are played by prostitutes or their clients, and each actor (except Grace) plays two roles, one in the brothel and the other in the play. King Herod (Stratford Johns) begs his young stepdaughter Salome (Imogen Millais-Scott) to dance for him, promising to give her anything she desires, much to the irritation of her mother, Herodias (Glenda Jackson). Fruhlingsinfonie (Spring Symphony, 1983): Starring Nastassia Kinski, Herbert Gronemeyer, Rolf Hoppe. Peter Schamoni's film is an intimate, accurate portrayal of the relationship between two composers- Robert Schumann and Clara. It is a wonderful film, with fine acting by the leads Herbert Gronemeyer and Natassia Kinksi, who had been a model and would enjoy further success after this movie. The time is early 19th century (1830-1850)during the Romantic Era craze in classical music. Beethoven opened the gates to the new wave of music, which would be followed by Chopin and Franz Liszt, all mentioned in this film. Robert Schumann is portrayed here as a struggling artist, an idealist who lives from hand to mouth, more along the lines of Mozart. He gets romantically involved with the more wealthier and polished Clara Wieck whose father opposes their love.

Fencing and action sequences are pretty good, the romance is great and the old castles are real.

Hal Martin (Robert O'Neil) makes out with his virginal babe in his fancy racing-striped Stingray. A biker gang pulls up aside and starts harassing the couple. As he’s trying to pull away from the gang, he accidentally causes one of their members to rollover and die. The vengeful gang follows them and once they're spotted, the gang beats them up and then Hal's girlfriend is raped, a thing that triggers off a bloody stir of events.

In exploitation-flick fashion, the film exposes the seedy netherworld of contemporary Manhattan.
