Câinele iubit de toată lumea a făcut acum un salt în anii '90, în această nouă şi incitantă versiune actualizată a lui Lassie!
Hotărâtă să înceapă o nouă viaţă la ţară, familia Turner - tatăl, mama vitregă, mica Jennifer şi adolescentul Matt - părăsesc oraşul pentru sălbăticia din Virginia. Mutarea creează probleme pentru toată lumea, dar mai ales pentru Matt, care se simte singur şi pierdut în noul său mediu. Din fericire, Turnerii sunt ajutaţi de un Collie protector, care devine o parte din viaţa lor - şi Matt se maturizează datorită loialităţii necondiţionate a câinelui.
