PLOT
William Munny - a notorious killer - has settled
down on a farm with his two children. His
animals are sick, and times are very hard. When
he finds out there is 500 dollars to be made
from killing two cowboys - who deserve it - he
reluctantly takes it on. He calls on his old
partner, Ned, who rides with him and "The
Schofield Kid", the young boy who told Munny
about the money. They enter the town, which
is watched over by an evil sheriff - Little
Bill. A gritty and realistic tale of how the
West really was.

În orașul "Big Whisky" trăiesc oameni obișnuiți care încearcă să ducă o viață normală.
Cowboy-ii încercă și ei să-și câștige existența.
Șeriful "Little Bill" menține ordinea folosind violența atunci când este nevoie. Prostituatele din oraș se descurcă și ele cum pot. Însă la un moment dat una dintre ele este ucisă de câțiva cowboy. Nemulțumite de dreptatea făcută de șerif, prostituatele oferă recompensă pentru prinderea criminalilor. Această recompensă îl atrage pe tânărul pistolar "The Schofield Kid", precum și pe bătrânul ucigaș William Munny. Inițial acesta renunțase la "meserie" de dragul soției sale, dedicându-se familiei și mai ales celor doi copii ai săi. Când soția sa îl părăsește, viața la fermă devine tot mai grea și de nesuportat. Așa că ia legătura cu vechiul său partener, Ned, își pregătește calul și pleacă să ucidă încă o dată, încălcând linia dintre eroism și răutate, om și mit.
