Synopsis .... Oyama arrives in tatter rags to compete in a karate tournament. When an entrepreneur wants to groom the young fighter for the big leagues, Oyama rejects his offer. Oyama denounces martial arts after killing a gang leader in a bar fight and goes to work on a farm. But deep down, Oyama knows he can’t turn his back on martial arts so he returns to the city. Sonny Chiba - Masutatsu Oyama Trilogy: This collection presents all three films in the Masutatsu Oyama trilogy, which finds martial arts legend Sonny Chiba playing the role of his real-life mentor Masutatsu Oyama, who was famous for creating a new form of karate in the postwar period. This movie is based on the true life story of a Korean fighter named Choi Bae-dal (who later changed his name to Masutatsu Oyama), the founder of Kyokushin Karate in Japan. Choi was born in South Korea in 1923, immigrated to Japan in 1938, and founded the Kyokushin Karate organization in 1953. Currently, Kyokushin Karate is practiced by more than 12 million practicioners in over 120 countries around the world.
