The Lost Empire (2001) DVDRip

At nearly three hours, it's a long story. However it is a pleasant
diversion with nothing much really to criticise about it. If you've
seen Monkey The TV Series, with the catchy theme songs, then
you know the basic yarn. This replaces Tripitaka... a priest
played by a woman, with a beautiful goddess as the love interest.
This story basically reflects the old folk tale of the Monkey
King into modern day... with whatever that might entail.
Most of the film is spent in the magical kingdom of ancient
China, which resides in an unopened tomb just to the north
of the Terracotta Warriors. The place is full of the characters
you might expect from Monkey The TV Series, although some
people might be a little surprised at the depiction of Confucious...
he of the 'wise sayings'... as a vain and scheming baddie.
