Plot:
Canada 1931: The unsociable trapper Johnson lives for himself in the ice-cold mountains near the Yukon river. During a visit in the town he witnesses a dog-fight. He interrupts the game and buys one of the dogs - almost dead already - for $200 against the owner's will. When the owner Hasel complains to Mountie Sergeant Millen, he refuses to take action. But then the loathing breeder and his friends accuse Johnson of murder. So Millen, although sympathetic, has to try to take him under arrest - but Johnson defends his freedom in every way possible.

Albert Johnson este un american care s-a stabilit în Yukon pentru a scăpa de de trecutul său. Johnson este un vânător înnăscut şi trăieşte singur în munţii îngheţaţi de lângă râul Zukon. În timpul unei vizite în oraş, el se implică într-o luptă cu câini. Împotriva voinţei stăpânului, Johnson cumpără un câine, pentru 200 de dolari, rănit în luptă. Hasel se plânge sergentului Millen care refuză să acţioneze în vreun fel. Hasel şi prietenii lui îi înscenează lui Johnson o crimă, şi acum Mountie Millen împreună cu Constable Alvin Adams şi Sundog trebuie să-l urmărească şi să-l aresteze. Nu va fi uşor, munţii sunt punctul forte al lui Johnson şi el ştie cum să supravieţuiască în sălbăticie. Dar Millen dispune de resursele poliţiştilor şi de amprentele lui.(Cinemagia)
