Plot:
Truman Gates is a country boy, who left his home and moved to Chicago and became a cop. One of his brothers, who is a trucker, who followed Truman's lead and left, is going through Chicago but he crossed paths with the mob and is killed. Truman brings his brother to his home and is greeted coldly by his brother, Briar, who feels that Truman deserted the family. Truman promises to find his brother's killer but the family feels that it's a matter of honor and that they should do it themselves, so Briar goes to Chicago and is raising all sorts of hell to find the killer, while Truman searches for his brother's partner.

Next of Kin (1989)
Truman Gates este un baiat de la tara, care si-a parasit casa si s-a mutat in Chicago pentru a deveni politist.
Unul dintre fratii sai, care este un urmaritor si care l-a insotit pe Truman, dar apoi a plecat.
Acesta a mers de-a lungul orasului Chicago, dar drumul sau s-a incrucisat cu cel al unui mafiot, Joey Rosselini, si a fost ucis.
Truman ii aduce trupul fratelui sau, inapoi acasa, si este intampinat destul de rece de fratele sau, Briar, care simte ca Truman a tradat familia.
Truman promite astfel sa-l gaseasca pe criminalul fratelui sau, dar familia sa simte ca este o problema de onoare si ca acest lucru ar trebui sa-l faca ei insisi, asa ca Briar merge in Chicago si aduce Iadul pe Pamant doar pentru a-l gasi pe ucigas, in timp ce Truman incearca sa-l gaseasca pe partenerul fratelui sau.
