Actiunea din Gamer este plasata intr-un viitor in care termenul de divertisment capata cu totul alte sensuri. Omenirea este ahtiata dupa jocuri pe calculator, iar unii oameni profita de pe urma detinutilor carora le este oferita o sansa la libertate daca supravietuiesc unui joc real pe viata si pe moarte. Un nou joc revolutionar in timp real permite oamenilor de a controla alti oameni intr-un joc foarte periculos.
