La un country club exclusivist, unde membrii sunt toti niste bogatasi snobi, lucreaza si ambitiosul tanar Danny Noonan.
Provenit dintr-o familie saraca si extrem de numeroasa, Danny e hotarat sa puna mana pe o bursa care i-ar asigura intrarea la colegiu si l-ar salva de un viitor ca muncitor la o fabrica de cherestea.
Pentru aceasta, trebuie sa se bage pe sub pielea elitistului judecator Smails si sa castige turneul de golf pentru angajati.
Desigur, va trebui sa depaseasca multe obstacole si sa invinga mai multi rauvoitori.
