Harry Mason and his daughter Cheryl are heading to a small midwestern resort town.
Suddenly, Harry sees a dark figure in the street and swerves to avoid it, causing a serious accident. After coming to, Harry realizes that he has smashed the car and Cheryl is missing. Further, it has started to snow in the middle of summer, and the town appears to be deserted. You must guide Harry through the town while he searches for his daughter and tries to discover what happened in this strange community. Along the way, you will explore a hospital, elementary school, and the streets of the town. Since Harry is an ordinary guy, he will have to catch his breath after running and will often miss his target when shooting. The entire game is given a frightening feeling with eerie lighting effects especially since the town is dark and the vast majority of lighting comes from a flashlight. Will Harry be able to save his daughter and escape the town in SILENT HILL?

This time around James Sunderland plays the unlikely hero. He is drawn into the nightmare by a letter from his wife, asking him to come to the town of Silent Hill... The only thing is she has been dead for three years.
Despite terrible misgivings, he makes his way to Silent Hill to investigate. Was it all just a sick joke or could this letter simply have arrived too late? Any other possibilities would be unthinkable...

The game is a direct sequel to the first Silent Hill game, staged seventeen years after the game's events.[2] This entry is centered on a teenage girl named Heather who is drawn into Silent Hill's bizarre reality after being haunted by terrifying dreams and must enter the town itself to uncover a disturbing connection regarding her past and fate. She ultimately discovers she is a part of the plans of the town's cult and becomes caught in a conflict within the cult itself.

Silent Hill is a town where pure evil permeates the air and the soil and eventually consumes the people. It's a soothing vacation spot that masks demon-worshipping cults and dark purpose. Each of the previous titles in the Silent Hill series of horror games has either outright taken place in the titular small town or has gradually been pulled there through some terrible inertia. Silent Hill 4: The Room breaks this trend, because it takes place in the neighboring city of South Ashfield and centers mainly on an ill-fated apartment building, a cursed apartment, and the man who lives in it. That's not the only series tenet the game breaks. Silent Hill 4 pairs third-person and new first-person gameplay with an emphasis on combat and item management. The resultant hybrid has some flaws, but The Room retains the dark, disturbing soul that is the unsettling center of the Silent Hill experience.
