Bazându-se pe o poveste adevărată, The Rider (2017) îl urmărește pe Brady Blackburn, un star rodeo aflat în ascensiune, care după un accident tragic este informat că zilele sale de competiție s-au terminat.

Înapoi acasă după accidentul care i-a fost aproape fatal, Brady se trezește întrebându-se din ce ar trebui să trăiască din moment ce nu mai poate face ceea ce îi dă un sentiment de satisfacție și motivație: să călărească și să concureze în cadrul competițiilor de rodeo. Confruntat cu incertitudinea, el trebuie să contemple la cum ar putea să arate noua lui viață. Într-o încercare de a-și recâștiga controlul asupra propriului destin, Brady încearcă să caute o nouă identitate și să-și redefinească ideea despre ceea ce înseamnă să fii un bărbat în inima Americii.
