eu foloseam kmplayer, fara niciun codec instalat pe langa el. acum am citit pe net(nu dezvalui sursa ca se poate considera reclama) despre playerul total media theatre 5, + codec shark007. mentionez ca eu ma uit la filme doar 720p, format mkv
sunt curios de ce foloseste lumea, si daca a testat cineva mai multe combinatii de playere + codecuri si a vazut vreo diferenta

am BSPlayer si VLC player instalat si un codec foarte mic FDDcodec pack si pot vedea filme de la AVI cu rezolutia cea mai proasta pana la BluRay

KM Player si VLC Player. Nici un codec. Am avut cateva experiente nefericite cu tot soiul de codecuri si playere (BS Player - bloatware bonanza) si m-am rezumat doar la astea doua.

Gresit. Ai o mutime, mai ales daca folosesti 7. Doar nu credeai ca au un player inclus in sistem de forma?
"Supported media formats
Windows Media Audio and Windows Media Video are the only default supported formats for encoding through Media Foundation in Windows Vista. For decoding, an MP3 file source is available in Windows Vista to read MP3 streams but an MP3 file sink to output MP3 is only available in Windows 7[3]. Format support is extensible however; developers can add support for other formats by writing encoder/decoder MFTs and/or custom media sources/media sinks.
Windows 7 expands upon the codec support available in Windows Vista. It includes AVI, WAV, AAC/ADTS file sources to read the respective formats [3], an MPEG-4 file source to read MP4, M4A, M4V, MP4V, MOV and 3GP container formats [4] and an MPEG-4 file sink to output to MP4 format [5]. Windows 7 also includes a media source to read MPEG transport stream/BDAV MPEG-2 transport stream (M2TS, MTS, M2T and AVCHD) files.[citation needed]
Similar to Windows Vista, transcoding (encoding) support is not exposed through any built-in Windows application but several codecs are included as Media Foundation Transforms (MFTs).[3] In addition to Windows Media Audio and Windows Media Video encoders and decoders, and ASF file sink and file source introduced in Windows Vista [3], Windows 7 includes an H.264 encoder with Baseline profile level 3 and Main profile support [6] and an AAC Low Complexity (AAC-LC) profile encoder [7]
For playback of various media formats, Windows 7 also introduces an H.264 decoder with Baseline, Main, and High profile support, up to level 5.1 [8], AAC-LC and HE-AAC v1 (SBR) multichannel, HE-AAC v2 (PS) stereo decoders [9], MPEG-4 Part 2 Simple Profile and Advanced Simple Profile decoders [10] which includes decoding popular codec implementations such as DivX, Xvid and Nero Digital as well as MJPEG [3] and DV [11] MFT decoders for AVI. Windows Media Player 12 uses the built-in Media Foundation codecs to play these formats by default.
MIDI playback is also not yet supported using Media Foundation.
Windows 7 also updates the DirectShow filters introduced in Windows Vista for playback of MPEG-2 and Dolby Digital to decode H.264, AAC, HE-AAC v1 and v2[62] and Dolby Digital Plus[63] (including downmixing to Dolby Digital)."

VLC pentru video, Foobar 2000 pentru audio (cateodata si WMP10 la XP si WMP11 la Seven).
Si cireasa de pe tort este, DVB Viewer Pro V4.2.1.0, "stie" sa redea orice audio si video existent (SD sau HD), dar de baza este pentru DVB-S adica pentru receptie satelit.
A, si scuze, am uitat de codecuri. Si in XP si in Seven, CCCP (Combined Community Codec Pack) si Elecard si Cyberlink pentru DVB Viewer.
