Plot:
A young man (who is the legendary Don Juan?), comes to New York in search of his lost love. Feeling like he has nothing to live for, he attempts to commit suicide from atop a billboard. Dr. Mickler is a soon retiring psychiatrist who helps Don Juan, come to his senses. He brings the costumed boy to the psychiatric hospital , in hopes of helping Don Juan find his identity. The doctor works with him for ten days, in which Don tells his life story. Mickler begins to believe that the young man is truly Don Juan, but the rest of the staff doesn't agree. The doctor knows that the only way out for Don Juan, is to pretend he's an average boy whose fantasy got the best of him.

Un tanar fermecator, cu masca si spada crede ca daca sare in gol va pune capat tuturor problemelor sale. Lumea il salveaza si prima solutie gasita este aceea de a-l duce la psihiatru. Primul psihiatru gasit este unul putin atipic: in pragul pensionarii, plictisit de cazurile ciudate care i-au trecut prin birou, doctorul Jack Mickler, interpretat de Marlon Brando, se intalneste cu acest om, care este convins ca este Don Juan.
Doctorul trebuie sa-i scoata repede din cap acestui macho, ca a sedus de-a lungul timpului 1500 de femei si sa-i trateze si depresia generata de imposibilitatea de a cuceri femeia visurilor sale. In doar 10 zile, doctorul Mickler trebuie sa il readuca pe tanar la realitate, pentru ca daca nu acesta va fi internat intr-un spital de boli nervoase si va fi tratat cu medicamente foarte puternice.
Dupa primele intalniri cu "Don Juan", interpretat de Johnny Depp, doctorul incepe sa gasesca rezolvari pentru propriile sale probleme. Fermecatorul tanar vorbeste despre dragoste si ii ofera, fara sa-si dea seama, rezolvari pentru neintelegerile pe care le are cu sotia sa. Convingerea cu care acesta ii prezinta situatia sa, il determina pe doctor sa creada ca tanarul este nimeni altul decat Don Juan.
Coloana sonora a filmului, unul dintre cele mai mari hit-uri ale anilor '90 este melodia "Have you really loved a woman"
