Plot:
The death of King Henry VIII throws his kingdom into chaos because of succession disputes. His weak son Edward, is on his deathbed. Anxious to keep England true to the Reformation, a scheming minister John Dudley marries off his son, Guildford to Lady Jane Grey, whom he places on the throne after Edward dies. At first hostile to each other, Guildford and Jane fall in love. But they cannot withstand the course of power which will lead to their ultimate downfall

În anul 1553, artistocrația era oricum, dar numai comodă nu. Cu binecuvântarea familiei regale, jefuiau proprietățile bisericii, furau cele mai frumoase ferme, și în general luau tot ce era mai bun în țară. Verișoara criticatului Henry al VIII-lea, Lady Jane nu împărtășea conduita nobilimii și nici nu simpatiza cu credințele religioase ale nobilimii. Dar o fetiță de 16 ani, acceptată la palat, nu prea avea cum să schimbe lucrurile. Apoi, printr-o serie de circumstanțe ciudate, Lady Jane Grey este încoronată regina Angliei.
