Scenarista și regizoarea Nancy Meyers (Ce-și doresc femeile, Ceva, ceva, tot o ieși, Vacanța) revine cu o comedie despre dragoste, divorț și tot ce se întâmplă între timp… Meryl Streep, Steve Martin și Alec Baldwin sunt starurile acestei comedii emoționante și inteligente, despre un triunghi amoros care…. E tare complicat!
Jane (Meryl Streep) este proprietara prosperă a unui restaurant din Santa Barbara, are trei copii mari și este divorțată de 10 ani de Jake (Alec Baldwin), un avocat cu care a rămas în relații amicale.
Totul pare să meargă pe făgașul normal, până într-o zi, când Jane și Jake ies la cină după ce participaseră la festivitatea de absolvire a fiului lor. Amintirile anilor frumoși petrecuți ca soț și soție se pare că au un efect neașteptat asupra celor doi, care se aruncă într-o aventură extrem de pasională.
Și așa se complică lucrurile, fiindcă Jake e însurat cu Agness (Lake Bell), o femeie mult mai tânără decât el, iar Jane este curtată de Adam (Steve Martin), arhitectul pe care îl angajase ca să-i renoveze bucătăria…
Acum, Jane încearcă să-și dea seama dacă îi place să fie “cealaltă femeie”, Jake se trezește că este foarte prins de această relație extrem de plăcută într-un fel ciudat, iar Adam, care tocmai încerca să-și revină după propriul divorț, își dă seama ca s-a îndrăgostit de Jane, dar nu e sigur că îi convine să fie prins în acest triunghi amoros.
Oare Jane și Jake ar trebui să-și vadă fiecare de viața lui și să renunțe la această relație clandestină, sau dragostea e într-adevăr mai dulce când se întâmplă a doua oară? E tare complicat!
