Plot:
Dave Spritz has a decent career as a weatherman in Chicago. He is loved and hated by people. However, his personal life is a mess, his father is dying, his ex-kids are not the brightest kids in the world, and his wife isn't fond of him. Trying to cope with all his problems, Dave attempts to make his father proud before he dies, tries to help his kids become better people, and try to get back with his wife. Sounds easy right? Not a chance.

Meteorologul oraşului Chicago, David Spritz (Nicolas Cage), trăieşte viaţa pe care o dorim cu toţii: este celebru, are un salariu de 6 cifre, muncind două ore pe zi, şi este pe lista scurtă a meteorologilor unei emisiuni matinale naţionale.
Dar succesele sale profesionale sunt umbrite de nereuşitele sale personale. Este divorţat, îşi pierde copiii şi chiar şi tatăl său (Michael Caine - câstigător de premii Pulizer), nu îl ia în serios. Pe de o parte "American Beauty", pe de altă parte "About Schmidt", "Meteorologul" priveste îndeaproape trăirea unei vieţi pline de înteles într-o lume fast-food.
