ALEGEREA INTRE RAI SI IAD SE FACE PE PAMANT.
John Constantine a fost pana in iad si inapoi.
Nascut cu un talent pe care nu si-l doreste, capacitatea de a recunoaste clar ingerii si demonii metisi care umbla pe pamant in piele de oameni, Constantine (KEANU REEVES) a fost determinat sa-si ia singur viata pentru a putea scapa de claritatea zguduitoare a viziunii lui. Dar a esuat. Resuscitat impotriva vointei lui, se trezeste adus inapoi pe terenul viilor. Acum, purtand pecetea faptului ca a incercat sa se sinucida pentru o perioada de gratie, el patruleaza granita pamanteasca dintre rai si iad, sperand in zadar sa isi castige dreptul de izbavire trimitandu-i pe infanteristii diavolului inapoi in adancuri.
Dar Constantine nu este un sfant. Dezamagit de lumea din jurul lui si in razboi cu lumea de dincolo, este un bautor inrait, erou aspru care detesta insati ideea de eroism. Constantine va lupta pentru a-si salva sufletul dar nu vrea sa ne castige admiratia sau multumirile – si cu siguranta nu simpatia.
Tot ce vrea este o gratiere.
Atunci cand o detectiva disperata dar sceptica de politie (RACHEL WEISZ in rolul Angelei Dodson) ii cere ajutorul in rezolvarea unui deces misterios a iubitei sale surori gemene (interpretata tot de Raquel Weisz), ancheta lor ii duce in lumea demonilor si a ingerilor care exista chiar sub peisajul Los Angeles-ului contemporan. Prinsi intr-o serie catastrofica de evenimente rupte din alta lume, cei doi devin implicati fara scapare isi cauta pacea cu orice pret. |
