A movie by Joe d’Amato, master of the 70’s Euro-sleaze. Locked behind the walls of a convent there’s an order of beautiful nuns whose vows force them to forget the pleasures of sexual contact. One night a wounded man is found on the grounds of the convent and is brought inside to be healed. He becomes the focus of the young nuns' desires as each one tries to visit this young man. The hero of the piece is Michael Williams (Richard Johnson), a writer and presenter of documentaries for the BBC. His wife was recently killed in a fire, an event which has left his young daughter, Emily (Nicoletta Elmi), with deep emotional scars, and so, when he jets off to Italy to film a documentary on occult paintings, he decides to take Emily and her nanny, Jill (Ida Galli, as Evelyn Stewart), with him. Of particular interest to Richard is a piece painted by an unknown artist, depicting a young girl who looks very much like Emily. As he continues to investigate the painting, it becomes clear that Emily is possessed by a supernatural force which causes her to hallucinate, suffer violent mood swings and succumb to involuntary fits. Could it have anything to do with the strange medallion given to her by Richard, which had previously been a gift to his dead wife? And how do Joanna Morgan (Joanna Cassidy), Richard's executive producer, and the psychic Countess Cappelli (Lila Kedrova), the elderly woman who first drew the painting to his attention, fit into the grand scheme of things?

Nota mea: un film excelent, in opinia mea, "Procesul vrajitoarelor" (nu are nimic de-a face cu titlul american dat pentru release-ul DVD, care incearca sa reinvie atractia fata de filmele horror cu Christopher Lee - pentru ca acest film nu are nimic in comun cu ele) - este atit un film istoric, cit si unul de arta. Actiunea urmeaza oarecum fidel o poveste adevarata, si este bazata pe transcrierea unui proces sustinut intr-una din regiunile Cehiei la sfirsitul secolului XV, proces care a antrenat peste 30 de persoane acuzate de vrajitorie. Avem de-a face cu o intreaga gama de elemente medievale specifice: teama, inchizitie, falsa ancheta, tortura si intuneric.
Filmul aduce o atmosfera sumbra, foarte fidela epocii: este filmat in alb-negru si decorurile insele sunt extrem de bine realizate, totul ducind la un efect foarte credibil. Este comparabil cu filmul lui Bergman, "A saptea pecete" - si sunt foarte fericit sa vi-l pot recomanda.
Daca exista cerere pentru subtitrare in limba romana, va rog sa o formulati aici, am sa incerc sa o realizez.

Un film, dupa parerea mea, foarte bun, scos recent pe DVD de catre studioul Canal +. Din pacate fara o subtitrare adecvata, drept pentru care a durat ceva pina sa pot realiza subtitrarea romaneasca – dar cu atit mai mult filmul merita o vizionare atenta. Lino Ventura il interpreteaza pe Marceau Leonetti, un politist “scos pe tusa” fortat de superiorii sai, in primul rind pentru metodele sale neconventionale, in al doilea rind pentru onestitatea sa. Ajuns functionar la o sectie de cartier, va primi o misiune pe care nimeni nu se asteapta s-o duca la capat: indentificarea unui martor al acuzarii intr-un proces intentat unui lider al mafiei locale. Fara nici o pista clara, Leonetti este insa hotarit sa duca cazul pina la capat.

Interesanta nu este atit actiunea in sine, cit sintetizarea marilor sale idei intr-un film artistic extrem de bine realizat. Gian Maria Volonte face un rol monumental.
Un film pe care il recomand tuturor.

O aventura cu Fernandel si Toto in rolurile principale. Doi monstri sacri, o comedie pe masura. Calitatea imaginii nu este extrem de buna, dar intrucit aceasta a fost versiunea pentru care a fost facuta subtitrarea (versiunea DVD avind niste scene in plus, ca atare neputindu-se sincroniza corespunzator) am preferat sa v-o ofer oricum. Sigur, dar e mai bine sa faci un thread nou in sensul in care post-ul tau are sa fie vazut (si filmul, implicit, descarcat) de mai multe persoane. Thread-ul asta nu este foarte frecventat, si de regula eu pun aici fie unele filme care mi se cer pri PM, fie unele filme la care exista subtitrare in romaneste (uneori facuta chiar de mine).
