P L O T A weather man is reluctantly sent to cover a story about a weather forecasting groundhog. This is his fourth year on the story, and he makes no effort to hide his frustration. On awaking the 'following' day he discovers that it's Groundhog Day again, and again, and again. First he uses this to his advantage, then comes the realisation that he is doomed to spend the rest of eternity in the same place, seeing the same people do the same thing EVERY day.

Groundhog Day is a 1993 comedy film directed by Harold Ramis, starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell. It was written by Ramis and Danny Rubin, based on a story by Rubin. Murray plays Phil Connors, an egocentric Pittsburgh TV weatherman who, during a hated assignment covering the annual Groundhog Day event in Punxsutawney, finds himself repeating the same day over and over again. After indulging in hedonism and numerous suicide attempts, he begins to reexamine his life and priorities. In 2006, the film was added to the United States National Film Registry as being deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

Phil Connors, meteorolog de serviciu, este trimis să relateze de pe teren, dintr-un cătun obscur aflat în centrul atenției o dată pe an, de "Ziua Cârtiței".
Pentru că a făcut același lucru în ultimii patru ani, Phil nu face niciun efort să-și mascheze nemulțumirea. Rutina anilor trecuți se repetă până în zorii zilei următoare când, după un somn liniștit, eroul nostru se trezește și constată că ziua precedentă se repetă.
La început, Phil încearcă să profite și să folosească acest fapt în avantajul lui, dar apoi își dă seama că este blestemat să-și petreacă eternitatea în același loc, văzând aceleași persoane și făcând același lucru în fiecare zi...
