Based on a Philip K. Dick short story, Minority Report
is about a cop in the future working in a division of
the police department that arrests killers before they
commit the crimes courtesy of some future viewing
technology. Cruise's character has the tables turned on
him when he is accused of a future crime and must find
out what brought it about and stop it before it can
happen
Release notes
Lots of controversy about the RTfA release... Here is
another release with 5.1 AC3 and is more accurately
cropped (The AR is 2.40:1 and not 2.35:1). This is
a great film and deserved a decent release. Enjoy...!

Plot:
In the year 2054 A.D. crime is virtually eliminated from Washington D.C. thanks to an elite law enforcing squad "Precrime". They use three genetically altered humans (called "Pre-Cogs" with special powers to see into the future and predict crimes beforehand. John Anderton heads Precrime and believes the system's flawlessness steadfastly. However one day the Pre-Cogs predict that Anderton will commit a murder himself in the next 36 hours. Worse, Anderton doesn't even know the victim. He decides to get to the mystery's core by finding out the 'minority report' which means the prediction of the female Pre-Cog Agatha that "might" tell a different story and prove Anderton innocent

In anul 2054, criminalitatea a fost complet eradicata din Washington D.C.
Viitorul poate fi prevazut si crimele prevenite inainte de a fi comise. In cadrul Departamentului de Justitie exista Pre-Crima, o echipa de elita specializata in combaterea criminalitatii, a caror activitate se bazeaza pe existenta unor fiinte dotate cu darul clarviziunii. Cei trei Vizionari pot vedea in viitor, dand detalii complete despre momentul, locul, victimele si autorii crimelor. Pana acum, ei nu s-au inselat niciodata.
Aceasta reprezinta cel mai avansat sistem de lupta impotriva criminalitatii. Seful acestei echipe de elita este John Anderton (interpretat de Tom Cruise). Distrus sufleteste de pierderea fiului sau, Anderton se dedica cu pasiune muncii sale, convins fiind ca acest sistem este capabil sa fereasca mii de oameni de o tragedie asemanatoare celei pe care a trait-o el.
Anderton nu are nici un motiv sa puna la indoiala faptul ca Vizionarii nu se inseala niciodata - pana in momentul in care el insusi devine suspect de crima.
Ca sef al echipei, Anderton este primul care vede imaginile din viitor percepute de Vizionari. Locurile si chipurile persoanelor ii sunt necunoscute, insa identitatea autorului crimei este extrem de clara - el insusi, John Anderton va ucide un om in urmatoarele 36 de ore.
Cu propria echipa pe urmele sale, condusa de rivalul sau Danny Witwer (Colin Farrell), Anderton este nevoit sa se furiseze prin labirintul orasului complet automatizat, in care fiecare pas iti este monitorizat, iar masina pe care o conduci controlata.
Fara nici o posibilitate de a se apara in fata acuzatiilor de crima, John este nevoit sa descopere singur imprejurarile care l-au condus aici si sa raspunda la o intrebare care il framanta de sase ani: e posibil ca Vizionarii sa greseasca?
