Anybody who has played the Total War games will be delighted to know that Medieval II: Total War is not only bigger than the previous games but also deeper in terms of strategy. And it also looks better provided that your PC gaming rig can handle running Medieval II in all its graphical glory.
After the tutorial i started the game playing the English, who have good infantry but have rather limited choices in terms of cavalry. That doesnt matter as once i built the necessary buildings, i will be able to build Mounted Knights which are one if not the most powerful units at this part of the game.
One new feature of Medieval 2 Total War is that religion plays a bigger part in the game. Not only does your religion dictate how the Pope in Rome views your faction but it also affects how other factions deal with you. Please the Pope and your Cardinals may be elected into the Council of Cardinals which is one step into becoming the Pope himself. Dont underestimate the power of the Pope as they can excommunicate anyone who doesnt follow the Papacy’s orders.
