Oscar Fingal O'Flahertie Wills Wilde (16 Oct. 1854 – 30 Nov. 1900) was an Irish writer and poet. He became one of London's most popular playwrights in the early 1890s.
Today he is remembered for his epigrams, his novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, his plays, as well as the circumstances of his imprisonment for being gay and early death.
His works have been translated to numerous languages and have been adapted to the stage and screen many times over.
He wrote one novel:
● The Picture of Dorian Gray (1891).
Fiction by Wilde includes:

● The Happy Prince and Other Tales (1888);
● The Portrait of Mr. W. H. (1889);
● Lord Arthur Savile's Crime (1891);
● The House of Pomegranates (1891);

● The Duchess of Padua (1883);
● Lady Windermere's Fan (1892);
● A Woman of No Importance (1893);
● A Florentine Tragedy (1893);

● The Importance of Being Earnest (1895);
● An Ideal Husband (1895).
