Brent Weeks is an American New York Times Bestselling author living and writing in Oregon. Weeks was born in Montana on March 1, 1977 and graduated from Hillsdale College with a degree in English. He briefly worked as a teacher and bartender before moving to writing full-time. Orbit Books published his first novel in 2008; The Way of Shadows is also the first book in Weeks' The Night Angel Trilogy, which has been printed in 10 different languages; the Way of Shadows is also scheduled to be adapted into a graphic novel by Yen Press.
The first book in his Lightbringer Series was released in 2010. Originally intended to be a trilogy, his publishers announced in 2012 that it would span four books, the second of which was released in September 2012.
