Story :
Bazat pe evenimente reale, thrillerul dramatic Argo prezinta o operaţiune sub acoperire, pe viaţă şi pe moarte, de salvare a şase americani. Acţiunile au avut loc ξn timpul atacului iranian soldat cu luare de ostatici, filmul concentrβndu-se pe rolul mai puţin cunoscut pe care l-au jucat CIA şi Hollywood, informaţii declasificate la mulţi ani după eveniment.
Pe 4 noiembrie 1979, cβnd revoluţia iraniană atingea punctul său critic, militanţii atacă ambasada americană din Teheran, luβnd 52 de americani ostatici. Ξn mijlocul acestui haos, şase americani reuşesc să scape şi să se ascundă ξn casa ambasadorului canadian, Ken Taylor. Realizβnd că este doar e chestiune de timp pβna cei şase vor fi găsiţi şi cel mai probabil ucişi, atβt guvernul american, cβt şi cel canadian, roagă CIA să intervină. Agenţia apelează la specialistul de top ξn exilări, Tony Mendez, cerβndu-i sa vină cu un plan ca să ξi scoată ξn siguranţă pe cei şase din ţară. Un plan cu adevărat incredibil, parcă rupt din filme.

Story Line:
In 1979, the American embassy in Iran was invaded by Iranian revolutionaries and several Americans are taken hostage. However, six manage to escape to the official residence of the Canadian Ambassador and the CIA is eventually ordered to get them out of the country. With few options, exfiltration expert Tony Mendez devises a daring plan: to create a phony Canadian film project looking to shoot in Iran and smuggle the Americans out as its production crew. With the help of some trusted Hollywood contacts, Mendez creates the ruse and proceeds to Iran as its associate producer. However, time is running out with the Iranian security forces closing in on the truth while both his charges and the White House have grave doubts about the operation themselves.
