In april 1944, an allied agent is sent to France in order to rescue an "overlord" captured by the Germans. (An "overlord" is one of the few men who knew the date and place of the "D" day). In timpul celui de-al doilea razboi mondial, inainte de debarcarea americanilor in Normandia, Gus Lang, un agent american, primeste misiunea de a se asigura ca planurile de invazie ale aliatilor nu vor fi divulgate nazistilor de colegul sau capturat de germani. Obiectivul sau este sa-si salveze colegul, fiind trimis in Franta. Pentru a reusi, ii este trimis in ajutor un ofiter german trecut de partea aliatilor.
