PLOT SYNOPSIS: When Michael Wiseman (John Goodman and Eric Close) is killed in
a tragic subway accident, the U.S. government covertly makes him an offer he
can't refuse; they "keep his brain alive" and place it into a new, genetically
bio-engineered body. The doctor (Dennis Haysbert) in charge of the experiment
has grand plans for him, but all Michael wants is to get back to his grieving
wife and daughter. For security reasons, the government forbids such contact...
not that Michael is going to let that stop him.
Summary From TV.com: Now and Again premiered on CBS television in September
1999 and focused on what would happen if a dead man's brain were removed and
placed in a body with superhuman strength and mental powers. Michael Wiseman,
now Michael Newman, was drafted to assist a government scientist on a variety of
projects. Michael's refusal to give up his family from his "past life," however,
proved more difficult to contend with than any in the government could ever have
guessed.
CREDITS: Originally aired on CBS, and later syndicated on SciFi, this brilliant
tv show garnered multiple award nominations and wins, including an Emmy
Nomination. It ran only one full season despite being winning the Best New
Drama at the Viewer's Choice Awards. Main Cast members include Eric Close,
Dennis Haysbert, John Goodman, Margaret Colin, Heather Matarazzo, and Gerrit
Graham.
