"The history of Germany's World War II aces is of great interest to aviation enthusiasts worldwide. This should not be surprising. German aces dominated the European sky from France's Atlantic coast to the river Volga in the Soviet Union. Wherever they appeared, they were lords of the sky for the entire first three years of the war. They overwhelmed the obsolete Polish fighter arm in 1939, quickly eliminated French fighters, and were hardly threatened by Fighter Command in the second half of 1940. For two years they repeatedly wreaked painful losses on British fighters over the English Channel and France. At
the opposite end of the Continent Jagdflieger eliminated Soviet aircraft in every battle. No fighter force in Europe could survive clashes with the Jagdwaffe. Such a forces only appeared in late 1942 -when the USA, with its modern aircraft and well-trained, daring pilots, joined'The war in Africa and Europe.
In the initial period of the war German aces not only flew superior fighter planes, but also flew them more aggressively, using better tactics. "

“Writing about the exploits of Rumanian fighter pilots in World War 2 has been both
an honour and a challenge.

Presenting to an English-speaking audience the little-known deeds of the vânători - the Rumanian fighter pilots - is long overdue. The results achieved by these outstanding men are indeed noteworthy.

They claimed over 1200 aircraft destroyed in the air and on the ground, and even if all of these claims cannot be verified, they were achieved by a small number of pilots. The price paid in return was
over 100 fighter pilots killed, yet their achievements are comparable with the best of their adversaries.

And the Rumanians did face the toughest enemies.

First, there was the Red Air Force, which by 1944 had grown into a formidable force. Then there was the USAAF, and finally, and perhaps most deadly of all, theLuftwaffe.”

In regula, iti ramane ACES (e completa?). Atunci eu nu ma mai chinuiesc sa o completez pe a mea pana la numarul 95. O sa pun ce am din combat aircraft si din elite units. Bine asa? Si dam si numarul, ca sa facem dupa aceea suma, sa vedem ce lipseste si de unde se poate aduce.
