Based on the novel by legendary pulp writer Jim Thompson, Michael Winterbottom ‘s, ‘The Killer Inside Me ‘ tells the story of handsome, charming, unassuming small town sheriff ‘s deputy Lou Ford, who comes in contact with a prostitute in his capacity of deputy. It turns out to be a very unexpected and violent encounter which leads to them falling in love with each other and initiating a peculiar relationship of a somewhat sadomasochistic nature. But Lou has a bunch of problems. Woman problems. Law enforcement problems. An ever-growing pile of murder victims in his West Texas jurisdiction. And the fact he ‘s a sadist, a psychopath, a killer. We learn how he came in contact with sadomasochism and started developing dark sides of his personality at quite a young age. Suspicion begins to fall on Lou, and it ‘s only a matter of time before he runs out of alibis. But in Thompsons savage, bleak, blacker than noir universe nothing is ever what it seems and it turns out that the investigators pursuing him might have a secret of their own. You should expect the unexpected all along this story until the very end.

Bazat pe romanul omonim al autorului Jim Thompson, filmul "The Killer Inside Me" il are in centrul actiunii pe ajutorul de serif Lou Ford, care este considerat un stalp al comunitatii in oraselul Central City din Texas si este apreciat de catre localnici pentru tratamentele lipste de mila pe care le aplica criminalilor. Desi pare calm, rabdator si chiar plictisitor, Lou Ford ascunde un secret intunecat si sumbru, care isi are radacinile in copilarie si care il transforma din cand in cand dintr-un om al legii intr-un criminal sociopat si maniac. In adolescenta, Lou a abuzat sexual o fata si a fost pe punctul de a fi trimis la inchisoare pentru aceasta infractiune, insa fratele sau adoptat pe nume Mike a luat vina asupra lui si l-a salvat de rusine. In prezent, Lou Ford are o relatie amoroasa stabila cu profesoara Amy Stanton, ceea ce nu il impiedica sa se implice intr-o aventura de tip sadomasochist cu prostituata Joyce Lakeland. Atunci cand bestia din el incepe sa ucida oameni fara discriminare, devine responsabilitatea lui Howard Hendricks sa-l demaste pe Lou Ford ca fiind un criminal psihopat.
