PMDG 747 Training from Angle of Attack For Virtual 747 Pilots who love to fly around the Flight Simulator Globe with Airline Pilot-Like Professionalism-with Real Procedures A major problem that faces flight simmers is the fact that most don’t have real world knowledge and training. Even if they do, this is an accurately modeled 747-400! To then attempt to take one of the worlds most complex aircraft and fly it around the virtual globe is far too difficult.
As a virtual aviatior without training you’ll be behind the aircraft at all times and you’ll basically be managing chaos. I’ve been in this position before, and realize your frustrations. These aircraft, especially something as large as the 747, are not easy to operate. What if there was a way to manage the PMDG 747 so it was easy to fly and not a huge undertaking? What if you could learn to do this in just a few hours? What if by tomorrow you could be proficient in this virtual aircraft? Would that be worth a shot?
Below is a detailed overview of what is included in this online training course.
Systems
Systems Training is presented with an emphasis on Autoflight logic and FMS operation. This is extremely important because this is how this aircraft is primarily operated. Roughly an hour and a half is spent showing the many features of the FMC alone! And that’s just the start! But you’ll also learn a lot of other great information about the many systems of the aircraft. The importance of proper systems training cannot be stressed enough. Flying with Glass- MCP, PFD, ND and FMS Air Systems Anti-Ice and Rain Protection Automatic Flight Communications Electrical Engines and APU Fire Protection Flight Controls Fuel Hydraulics Landing Gear
Procedures
Procedures are critical operations that deserve special attention. These procedures mainly deal with the more dangerous parts of flying; Takeoffs and Landing. Because takeoffs and landings happen in close proximity to the ground, that is why they are so dangerous. So, this part of this training actually ends up being the most critical as these are the maneuvers that real pilots spend most of their time learning. It’s really easy to fly from one place to the other, but the difficult part are these procedures. Takeoffs Normal Takeoff Technique Low Speed Abort High Speed Abort Takeoff Emergency with Fuel Dump and Holding Approaches CDAP- Constant Descent Approach Procedures Non-Precision Approaches VOR with Sidestep into Paris LOC into Gatwick Visual Approach into Princess Juliana Precision Approaches CATI ILS by Hand into Toronto CATIII Autoland into Dubai Go Around into Denver
Full Flight
To finish this training, we take you on a Full Flight from Preflight in San Francisco, USA through Shutdown in Frankfurt, Germany. This portion of the training will show many of the things not discussed earlier in the procedures, and will also show, in real time, advanced features of this aircraft. Preflight and Fuel Planning Captain on the Flight Deck! Initialization Preflight Preparations Before Start Pushback and Startup Taxi Takeoff Climb Cruise Tank-to-Engine Switch North Atlantic Tracks Descent/Arrival Planning Descent Approach Landing Taxi-In Shutdown Secure
