1)Aircraft piston engines If you are a student professional pilot, Aircraft Piston Engines will teach you Piston Engine theory, up to the standard required for the Air Transport Pilot's Licence theoretical knowledge examination. The CD-ROM also includes JAA ATPL style tests which give you the maximum possible assistance in preparing for the written examination. If you are a general aviation pilot, Aircraft Piston Engines will teach you every aspect of your engine's operation far beyond the level of the PPL examination. It will also teach you how to manage your engine in order to get optimal engine performance, in the air.
CONTENTS:
* 3-D and 2-D graphics, animations and photographs giving you a much clearer idea of exactly what happens inside the piston engine than is possible using standard text books and teaching methods. * Fully interactive lessons, narrated in clear, precise English and supported by text, highlighting the main teaching points. * Multiple choice JAA ATPL questions with which you can interactively test yourself. * Topics include: Ignition systems, Fuel systems, Carburation, Cooling, Propellors, Power Augmentation, Diesel engines, and much more.
2)ATPL Aircraft Performance This CD-ROM on Aircraft Performance is designed to help students gain a detailed knowledge of all aspects of aeroplane performance in preparation for the JAA/EASA Airline Transport Pilot's Licence examination.
The course brings together the world-renowned technical and teaching expertise of Oxford Aviation Training’s specialist ground and flying instructors, and the multimedia design talents of OATmedia.
Following this interactive, multimedia course should enable student professional pilots to learn what Aircraft Performance is all about, more effectively, more enjoyably and more rapidly than ever before. We hope, too, that the course it will be valuable both to General Aviation pilots who wish to expand their knowledge of aircraft performance, and to qualified airline transport pilots in fulfilling their recurrent training requirements and improving their knowledge of performance theory.
Contents
Introduction to:
* Classes of Aircraft * Performance Standards * Airfields
Performance Principles for Aircraft Classes A and B in:
* Take-off * Climb * Descent * En-Route * Landing
3)ATPL Aviation Meteorology Oxford Aviation Training and the Met Office have developed a self-teach, media-rich, interactive Computer Based Training (CBT) course of theoretical and practical Meteorology aimed at both student and qualified pilots. Instruction is up to JAA ATPL level, but as the course is designed for beginners it is suitable for CPL and PPL pilots, too.
The main aim of this CBT is to give pilot-oriented training in Aviation Met theory and to teach pilots to use this theory to interpret met forecasts and reports in order to plan safe and expeditious flying sorties. The secondary aim of the CBT is to teach pilots how to extract and interpret met information from the Met Office's web site.
CONTENTS
A self-teach, media rich, interactive computer based training (CBT) course in Aviation Meteorology. Covers JAA ATPL Theoretical Knowledge Learning Objectives. Also suitable for PPL and CPL. Includes both JAA and FAA style self assessment test questions up to ATPL. Comprehensive coverage of all types of forecasts and reports: TAFs, METARs, Spot Wind charts, etc. Links to Met Office and Aviation Weather websites.
4)Gas Turbines This computer based training course in Gas Turbines teaches the subject of gas turbine engines up to and beyond the standard required by the EASA/JAA Air Transport Pilot's Licence (ATPL) syllabus. Gas Turbines together with its companion CD-ROM, Aircraft Piston Engines covers the complete EASA/JAA ATPL Powerplant syllabus. The two CD-ROMs together contain over 500 ATPL-style questions and answers on the subject Powerplant.
This Gas Turbines course also covers all EASA/JAA objectives for the ATPL helicopter gas turbine syllabus, except for those pertaining specifically to helicopter engine intakes.
CONTENTS include lessons on:
* Compressors * Combustion chambers * Turbine Assembly * Reverse Thrust * Fuel Systems * Performance * Engine Instrumentation * Propellers
5)IFR RT Communications This IFR RT Computer Based Training (CBT) CD-ROM from OATmedia is a follow-on from the ICAO/JAA version of OATmedia's VFR RT CBT tutor. It is intended for pilots who have completed VFR RT training and who now wish to expan their knowledge and skills to IFR situations.
The CBT complies with ICAO IFR RT procedures. Its main purpose is to provide pilots preparing for an Instrument Rating test with practical instruction in IFR RT skills. The CBT also covers the IFR elements of the JAA Communications Syllabus and therefore, will also provide excellent preparation for the JAA ground examinations in IFR RT Communications.
CONTENTS
* Aerodrome Control - Aircraft * Approach Control * IFR Departures & Arrivals * Radar Vectors to Final Approach * Instrument Landing RT * Area Control * Position & Level Information * Airways RT * Holding En-route * ACAS/TCAS * Miscellaneous Flight Handling * Instrument Rating Test Scenario * JAA style Test Questions
