The FBI Files: Season 2 (1999 - 2000)
Season 2 Episode 18:
0.22 Calibre Killer

In 1980, police drew a blank in their investigations into the murders of six black men in Buffalo, finding no connection but the victims' ethnicity and the .22 calibre bullets used to dispatch them. FBI profilers were called in to analyse the perpetrator : a move which paid dividends when a seemingly unrelated incident in Georgia led them straight to the killer


Season 2 Episode 17:

Insight into the Bureau's hunt for a serial killer who targeted police in Washington DC. By April 1995, two officers had been shot while sitting in their patrol cars, and although a suspect was identified it would take months of painstaking nationwide surveillance to bring the culprit to book : but not before he claimed another victim

Season 2 Episode 15:
Moving Target

The hunt for a racially motivated serial killer - a sniper who murdered at least 20 African-American men but left few clues and no witnesses. A countrywide appeal eventually yielded the number of a Kentucky number plate, and led police to white supremacist Joseph Paul Franklin - who promptly escaped custody. He was finally arrested two months later, having made his way to Tampa, Florida

A Killer Abroad

Documentary charting efforts to catch a serial killer responsible for the murders of several female victims in Vienna. Local law enforcement agencies had little experience with such a hunt, and called in the FBI to aid in their quest, whose profiling skills soon led to a suspect being identified : a famous German writer who was finally tracked down to his Miami home and brought to justice

The bloodiest gun battle in the FBI's history, which occurred on April 11, 1986, when agents attempted to apprehend two suspects responsible for a prolonged crime spree
