La réunion des Musées Nationaux et Montparnasse Productions présentent ce film de 60 minutes qui est une invitation à découvrir le patrimoine culturel, historique et géographique du pays le plus visité du monde : la France !
Nous suivons la caméra de Mark Daniels, réalisateur américain qui s'émerveille autant de l' harmonie incomparable unissant paysages et architecture que de la rencontre entre les hommes et la terre. Ce voyage permet de rencontrer, parmi tant d'autres, Louis XIV à Versailles, Monet à Giverny, Vercingétorix à Alésia, les Plantagenêts à Fontevrault, l'ombre de Chateaubriand à Saint Malo… Le voyageur sera aussi amené à déguster les vins de Chinon, déjà appréciés par Gargantua et Pantagruel, ou ceux de Bourgogne, crus fastueux vendus aux Hospices de Beaune mais aussi à évoquer le goût des Romains pour les huîtres de Cancale… Son goût pour l'histoire et l'histoire de l'art sera délicieusement comblé par la visite des Châteaux de la Loire, où se conjuguent les styles gothique, Renaissance et classique. Il découvrira également l'influence de l'Eglise qui au long des siècles a édifié monastères, abbayes et autres hauts lieux spirituels, tels le Mont Saint Michel ou la basilique de Vézelay.Parcours sélectif, visite idéale, initiation exceptionnelle à la rencontre de la France que nous-mêmes, Français, pourrons redécouvrir avec bonheur. Following the American director Mark Daniels' camera you can marvel at the incomparable harmony of the countryside, the architecture and the encounters between man and earth throughout 2000 years of history. The journey will introduce you to, among others, Louis XIV at Versailles, Monet at Giverny, Vercingétorix at Alésia, the Plantagenets at Fontevrault, the shadow of Chateaubriand over Saint Malo… On your journey you will also be invited to taste the wines of Chinon, held in great esteem by Gargantua and Pantagruel, and those of Burgundy, sumptuous wines sold at auction in the Hospices of Beaune. Similarly, you will be reminded of the Roman's weakness for Cancale oysters… Those interested in history, and particularly that of art, will be delighted by the visit to the castles of the Loire Valley, which describe the Gothic, Renaissance and classical styles. You will also discover the influence of the church which, through the centuries, built monasteries, the centre of Christianity during the Middle Ages, and other important spiritual places such as Mont Saint Michel or the basilica at Vézelay.
