Here's how to do it:
1. Download and install Firefox
Get Firefox here:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
2. Install the Greasemonkey add-on.
Greasemonkey is a Firefox extension that allows you to customize the way webpages look and function. Greasemonkey itself doesn't change anything, it just allows you to load scripts that do. Here at Rapidrise we need it to use a script to check rapidshare links automatically from within posts. There are many other scripts for many other uses, but we'll just be using it to check links.
Get the Greasemonkey add-on here:

Click "Install Now" and then restart your browser when you're done.
3. Install a link checking script from userscripts.org
There are several if not many scripts that can do this at userscripts.org, but I'd suggest that you use the one below. I've been using it for close to a year so you'll know that it works. Be careful if installing a different one. Read reviews to be sure that it is working and safe.
Get the link checking script here:
http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/9467
Click "Install" in the window that pops up and you should be done.
Now it should show green circles for the links that are good, and red circles for the links that are dead (in addition to putting a line through the link). It also makes the coded links into live hyperlinks. So keep that in mind when looking for live links.
If you use a different browser, there may be an option for you to still use a link checking script. I use Firefox though so it's the only one I can really comment on. Here are some links that might help though:

stii am mai facut si eu chestii deastea am sters sau am bagat o litera in plus.la ceea ce ai aratat tu acolo trebuia sa pui un singut "r" si puteai downloada fisierul.este asa de greu sa faci chestia asta sau trebuia neaparat sa faci publicitate la mozilla

Mersi pentru feedback. Dupa cum vezi, am pus toate browser-ele. Sau Chrome, IEXPLORER, Safari nu sunt browsere? Eu nu folosesc Mozilla, dar este cel mai simplu de configurat. Oricum, mersi pentru reply.

O chestie banala si triviala....dar foarte eficienta. Nu mai mai enervez cand fac paste in RS Manager si vad ca sunt offline  . Stiu din start din post.
