This collection includes DX-Ball, DX-Ball2, Super DX-Ball, and Rival Ball.
DX-Ball is a free arcade game by Michael P. Welch. It has got to be the best
Breakout-style game ever. The object of the game is to bounce your ball around
the screen with your paddle, breaking bricks, collecting points and power-ups as
you go. Once all the bricks are destroyed, you move to the next level. If you
drop the ball, you lose a life. The game has 50 different levels, lots of
power-ups and in-game music.
Exploding bricks and laser weapons are two additions to this Breakout-style
game.
Fans of Breakout have no shortage of spin-offs to quench their brick-destroying
thirst. DX-Ball 2 adds to the mix explosive bricks and power-ups that include
multiple balls, fire balls, ball catch, and more.
If you haven't played a Breakout-style game before, the idea is simple: Use the
mouse to move a paddle back and forth along the bottom of the screen, while
bouncing a ball to break through a pattern of bricks above.
Super DX-Ball delivers a vibrant and colorful brick-breaking game that the whole
family can enjoy. Created by Michael P. Welch, the original author of DX-Ball,
this game brings together the amazing world of tessellation and repeating
patterns with the classic game play of DX-Ball. Hand-crafted by an old pro,
Super DX-Ball is the quintessential brick-breaking game that you've been
searching for.
Rival Ball is the sequel to DX-Ball 2. Break blocks with a save/resume feature
that lets you quit a game and return to it later. Compare your scores to others
by posting them online. Chat with other players in the integrated online game
room and test your skill in 1-on-1 split-screen network competition. As an added
bonus, Rival Ball will play all of your DX-Ball 2 boards.
