Surrounded by corruption, Frank Serpico is distrusted and harrassed by fellow officers, who suspect him both for his honesty and for his countercultural lifestyle. When the double-dealing and persecution become too much, he tries to inform police commissioner White of the corruption within the department, but the response is discouraging. Frustrated, Serpico takes his story to the New York Times editors; the resultant scandal prompts the mayor to initiate a high-profile investigation (the Knapp Commission). Serpico is called to testify, and now both cops and criminals are gunning for him.

Tips to watch subtitle .SUB and .IDX format :
VLC Media Player:
1. Keep all the files (.avi, .sub & .idx) in the same folder
2. Play normally with VLC media player , go to VIDEO on top of VLC and choose SUBTITLE TRACK at the dropdown menu and select the appropriate subtitle .
ConverXtoDVD:
1. “Add” the .AVI file from the movie folder into the ConvertXtoDVD (the .IDX and .SUB file extensions should follow automatically providing all of them have the same exact file name). For non techie : FILE-NAME.FILE-EXTENSION
2. “Convert” and “Burn” normally
3. Use the button on your DVD or the remote control to select the appropriate subtitle for your viewing.

Un film de referinta pentru cariera lui Al Pacino, dar si pentru cinematografie in general, este povestea lui Frank Serpico, un politist din New York in perioada anilor 70, care decide sa ia atitudine fata de colegii sai politisti prin a demasca neregulile din cadrul departamentului precum si mita pe care colegii lui o primeau constant de la infractori. In scurt timp, Serpico va constata ca si cei pe care ii credea prieteni, s-au intors impotriva lui ca dusmani.
