Syaoran, a boy who wants to become an archeologist, and Sakura, a princess from the Clow Kingdom, are childhood friends with a close relationship. On a fateful night, Sakura lost all her memories as a result of a conspiracy to obtain her powers. In order to regain her memory, Syaoran seeks help from the witch, Yuuko. Yuuko tells Syaoran that he has to travel from one alternate reality to another to collect fragments of Sakura's memory. However, even if Sakura regains her memory, she will have no recollection of Syaoran. Travelling together with them is Kurogane, a warrior who was exiled from his country, and Fye, a magician who wants to escape from his King. With the help of a magical creature, Mokona, they set off on an exciting journey through time and space.

Episode 1: The Meeting of Hitsuzen A mysterious power within Sakura is awoken by the ruins as wings sprout from her back. Sakura beings to fade into the seal, but Syaoran saves her. However, the wings break as the feathers scatter to many different worlds. Syaoran carries Sakura, now unconscious and her life fading away, out of the ruins to find themselves being attacked by mysterious mechanical warriors. Tōya manages to keep them back as Yukito finds that Sakura's heart is no longer in this world. With no other choice, Tōya leaves Sakura to Syaoran and Yukito sends the two to another world to seek help from the Time-Space Witch. Now in the world of ×××HOLiC, Syaoran is joined by Kurogane and Fai D. Flowright as he pleads to Yūko to save Sakura.

Episode 2: The Strength to Fight Transported to the world of ×××HOLiC, Syaoran, Kurogane, and Fai D. Flowright ask the Space-Time Witch, Yûko Ichihara, to grant their wishes. Syaoran's wish is to travel to many worlds to restore the memories of Sakura; Kurogane's wish is to return to his own world; and Fai's wish is to travel to different worlds to avoid his own. Though their intents are different, the theme is the same and that is to travel between different worlds. However, they must all pay a price before their wishes can be granted. Kurogane's payment is his sword; Fai's payment is the marking on his back; and Syaoran's payment is his relationship with Sakura. Though hesitant about their payment, they pay up and are given Mokona Modoki to travel to the next world. After coming to, the gang find themselves in the middle of a gang war but instead of modern weapons, everyone is fighting with a special technique called a Kudan.

Episode 3: The Katana That Dispels Evil Sorata Arisugawa and Arashi Kishu find Syaoran, Fai, Kurogane, and Sakura (still unconscious but better) and take them to their apartment building. After some rest and less suspicious clothes, the three go around town looking for Sakura's memory fragments. However, Kurogane spots someone who looks like Princess Tomoyo and chases after her. After losing sight of the girl as well as Syaoran and Fai, Kurogane meets the gang from before and a fight ensues.

Episode 4: The Innocent Wanderer Sakura is awake and is checking out the town. However, she wakes up without Syaoran, Fai, Kurogane, and Mokana knowing it until it was too late. Things get worse when the leader of the invading gang recognizes her from his encounter with Syaoran and concocts a devious scheme.

Episode 5: The Battle of the Mages Masayoshi and Mokona have been kidnapped by Primera as she leaves a challenge for Syaoran, Fai, and Kurogane. Though they run into some communication trouble since Mokona acts as a translator for them, they make it to Hanshin castle. Fai decides to fight in Syaoran's place as he reveals his Kudan which allows him to fight and a battle between Fai and Primera ensues.

Episode 6: The Uncried Tears Syaoran and Shogo begin their unfinished fight. As the fight continues in Syaoran's favor, Masayoshi and Primera are in danger as a result of their fight. However, Masayoshi's Kudan saves them but grows to a tremendous size as Mokona senses that Sakura's feather is in Masayoshi's Kudan.

Episode 7: The Cracked Memento Arriving in the next world, Syaroan and the gang get harassed by the son of the lord there and his thugs. Shortly after, they meet a young girl by the name of Chu'Nyan who chasses the thugs off. When the son runs home to his father, we realize that his source of power is one of Sakura's feathers inclosed in a ball. Due to the wierd clothing that Syaroan and co. are wearing, Chu'Nyan then mistakes them for Mitteishu, or secret investigators from the government sent to the many kingdoms to right wrongs, and takes them to her house. After a long talk with them, she realizes that they couldn't possibly be Mitteishu she tells them about the evil lord of the area and how he murdered her mother. Later on, the young lord and his thugs burn down a townspersons house because they didn't pay their taxes. After a fight between them and Syaroan, Chu'Nyan only keepsake from her mother, her magical fan, ends up getting destroyed.

Episode 8: Beloved Daughter of God Chu'nyan, Syaoran, and Sakura are strolling in the market when Sakura tries her hand at a merchant’s lottery. While the odds of getting a golden ball were low, she manages to get all four in one try. Chu'nyan tells Sakura she must be loved by the Gods since she seems to have a lot of good fortune.

Episode 9: The Bewitching Woman This episode reveals another one of the tyrant lord's ace in the hole in the form of a mysterious female hijutsu user. Before that is revealed, the episode reveals how determined Syaoran is in getting into the castle that has Sakura's feather inside. Though he was hurt from the previous battle, he still plans to go inside. What awaits them inside the castle? Or cany they even get inside?

Episode 10: Mirror of Separation The villagers of Koryo storm the castle as Chu'nyan follows Sakura; meanwhile, Syaoran continues to battle the son of the ryanban and Fay fights the witch with Kurogane. Kurogane unintentionally frees the witch from her imprisonment set by the master of the contry. Chu'nyan learns that her mother's spirit is temporarily inhabiting Sakura's body and Chu'nyan comes to understand the true meaning of hijutsu. Her mother gives her own hijutsu mirror to Chu'nyan and she departs from Sakura's body.

Episode 11: The Chosen Tomorrow The villigers tried to attack Ryanban's castle and are now under his control. To make matters worse Syaoran seeing that Chu'nyan and Sakura are trapped in a bubble and learning that if he attacks the villigers the girls will feel the effects ten fold! Oh what's Syaoran going to do now?!

Episode 12: A Warm Smile In our next world our heroes find no people are buildings what's going on? All that's there is a huge lake whick Mokona senses a powerful force in. Syaoran dives in to take a look. When he resurfaces Sakura catches him up her strange memory. Syaoran goes back under water, while he's gone sakura has a strange encounter with a creature from the lake "Why are you here, What are you doing here?" It's asks, and as she struggles with this answer she passes out. In her unconcious state she recovers a memory from when she first met Syaoran. Syaoran has a flashback of his own back to when he attended Sakura's birthday party. Since Syaoran has no memories from the time before Fujitaka became his father Sakura made it so that his and her birthdays will now be on the same day. Sakura regains her conciousness and Syaoran takes her to the bottom of the sea to see a spectacular miniature city. This occurence reminds Syaoran of the time when Sakura showed him the white birds from the top of the castle. Anyway Mokona informs everyone that there's no feather in this world and they take off for the next one.

Episode 13: The Steward of Illusions Soon after arriving in the new world they learn of a legend of a feather that was given to a beautiful golden hair princess. Soon after reciving it, her parents the king and queen die. Then all of the children go to the castle following the lead of the feather. Now children of the town also begin to disappear as in the legend. Soon after they arrive more children start disappearing. One night Sakura spots the golden hair princess and follows her. But Sakura soon passes out. Morning shows more children as well as Sakura missing. The towns people learning of Sakura's disappearance blame her! Can Syaoran and the others find Sakura and learn the truth behind the legend?

Episode 14: What Really Happened Followung the trail of the stolen children of Spirit Town, Sakura is captured at the forbidden castle, where she encounters the golden-haried ghost. In order to rescue Sakura and the missing children, Syaoran and his friends went collecting information in the town. Then they creep into Grosum-san's house, and found another history book same as the Docter's. Also Syaoran found out some pages were missing from the Docter's history book. On the other side, Sakura tried to break free, and help the missing children. Finally Syaoran discovered the truth behind all the mystery of the missing children...

Episode 15: Belief in the Heart Sakura mansges to break free and explore the castle, where she sees the missing children digging out her feather. Meanwhile the other are trying to find the man responsible for the kidnapping of the childern.

Episode 16: Strength and Kindness Syaoran, Fay and Kurogane enter a tornament for an unknown prize. Mokuna tells its a power item, but unsure if its Sakura's feather. So they must fight against people who can use magic freely. Can they win and is the powerful item really Sakura's feather? And what happens when they met a young man who like Syaoran has a great desire to save a loved one and wants the prize too. So who will get this prize?

Episode 17: The Cafe in the Country of Sakura Our groups of friends end up in a world which is frequently visited by people from other worlds. After they learn they have to register, they are allowed to trade a few items they don't need for money. Then they get to choose an occupation. Fei chooses to be a bartender, Sakura chooses to work as a waitress, Syaoran and Kurogane choose a job that hunt random monsters. Will their temporary occupation bring them any closer to finding Sakura's feathers?

Episode 18: The Kitties and the Puppies It seems Syaoran and Kurogane had stolen the prey of two oni slayer partners Yuzuriha Nekoi and Kusanagi Shiyuu as they introduce themeselves Kurogane discovers from them that Fay and had given him and Syaoran the aliases Big puppy and Little puppy. Back at the cafe they treat the partners to some cake and tea while Kurogane huffs at Fay for the names (he and Sakura are Big Kitty and Little Kitty). The partners get called out for a bounty so leave promising to come back and swap stories. Syaoran and Sakura have a momentary heart to heart when Sakura almost discovers that Syaoran was probably an important person to her, but because of Yuuko's work she instantly forgets her discovery. Syaoran and Kurogan go down to city hall to find out about any strange occurences when they are directed to the information boof. They meet a woman by the name of Eeri at the info booth who tells that lately oni have been showing up in areas they shouldn't and of a new oni that's appeared that takes the shape of a beautiful woman. They recieve an address to a place where to find more information. Kurogane and Fay follow the address when they are surrounded in the streets by a bunch of oni ready to attack.

Episode 19: The Resolution to Live This episode starts directly from where the previous episode ended. Kurogane and Fai battle the oni, which they manage to stay alive, though Fai's ankle is injured. New oni slayers show up in the store. The person that Kuro and Fai were directed to meet had just left the place. A stronger oni arrives on the scene, doing weird things once more. Syaoran is unable to do much, but the teamwork of the oni slayers takes down the oni. Fai and Kuro come back to give the bad news. At the end, Syaoran realizes that he cannot rely just on his kicking skills and ask Kurogane to teach him how to fight with a sword. The mystery man shows up once again, is he related to the weird incidents that has been happening lately? What about Sakura's feather?

Episode 20: The Afternoon Piano Kurogane and Syaoran go to get new swords, since Kuro broke his regular katana and Syaoran wants to learn how to fight with a sword. Kurogane begins Syaoran's sword training, starting with increasing his peripheral vision. Fai buys a piano for the cafe. Sakura goes to work, she tries hard to gather up any information she can in order to find out the whereabouts of her feather. The witness to the new breed of Oni comes by, with Fai out and Mokona asleep. She plays the piano and does something mysterious, making Sakura sing to tell the woman about herself. It seems she bypasses the memory rule via her subconscious, in which she remembers her childhood with Syaoran, but doesn't actually realize it. At the end of the song, she cries gently as she goes to sleep and the mysterious lady promptly leaves. Near the end of the episode, Syaoran comes back, ragged from Kurogane's training. He sleeps quickly after a tiring day, and Sakura fixes up his attire, falling asleep next to him. Another mysterious lady shows up, with mysterious egg shape objects, apparently overseeing the actions of the mysterious woman from before. What is going on?

Episode 21: The Imp's True Face Kurogane and Syaoran go out to train once more, but there's a twist at the end of this training session. Syaoran has to walk home blind folded so that he gain a better sense of his surroundings. Syaoran slowly finds his way and learns the different presences of of living and non-living things until an oni attacks. Ryuuou comes to stop the oni and pulls the blind fold off of Syaoran face (and at the same time ruins Syaoran's training). After facing the oni Syaoran explains the situation to Ryuuoh then Ryuuou all riled up decides to show Syaoran something in town. Fay and Kurogane go back to the bar to see the person who spotten the new oni. After she sings her song she speaks with them about an oni that takes the form of a beautiful man. It seems this oni has the power to control all the oni. Fay and Kurogane have a hunch that this new oni may have something to do with Sakura's feather. Back at the cafe Sakura senses her feather and starts to walk in a trance to the center of town. She runs into Syaoran, Ryuuou, and one of the slayer partners they met the other day when they are surrounded by a bunch of oni, and the mysterious human like oni. Though this oni enshrouded in mystery seems to know Syaoran as Syaoran recognizes him as someone from his past.

Episode 22: The Indelible Memories It seems the new breed of oni is the man that taught Syaoran to fight a man by the name of Seishirou. The appearance of someone from Syaoran's past troubles him through the night. The other slayers bring an unconcious Sakura back to the cafe. Worried about the situations that have been taking place the other slayers have agreed to take out the I1 oni who is the leader of all the rest to try and end these strange events. Fye assures them that while they look for the I1 oni Kurogane and Syaoran will find out information about the new breed oni and whether or not the the new oni and the I1 oni are one and the same. Kurogane and Syaoran go to city hall to find out information on the new oni, the desk consutant assures them that there is no new oni.

Episode 23: The Vanishing Life Sumomo and Kotoko inform Syaoran and Kurogane that Seishirou is at the cafe. Syaoran and Kurogane hurry back to help out Fay and Sakura. At the cafe a battle begins between Fay and Seishirou. Seishirou is controling the oni to attack Fay, and with Fay's still injured leg he only manages stay afoot, but this isn't enough to save his life. When Fay and Syaoran finally make it back to the cafe the place is in shambles and no one, but Mokona is there. Mokona informs them that Fay was defeated by an oni, and Seishirou has Sakura's feather and may even have Sakura herself. Syaoran opts to go after Seishirou himself and Kurogane and Mokona stay behind. Syaoran meets up with Seishirou who informs him that Fay is dead. Seishirou's objective is to find the I1 oni and obtain its special power of immortality. In order to make sure he gets this power he's trying to eliminate everyone who has the capability to defeat the I1 oni syaoran included. At that moment Seishirou stabs Syaoran. Sakura sees this and runs to Syaoran's side as he begins to disappear. The two disappear together, but what will happen next is Syaoran and Sakura dead?

Episode 24: The Blade of a Desperate Fight With the help of the feather Seishirou is making everything in Outou disappear. It seems Syaoran, Sakura, and Fay aren't dead afte rall. They've woken up dream pods. It seems Outou was a virtual world and once they died they were transported back to the real world. Seishirou is now using the power of the feather to make Outou a reality. Everyone still left in the game is transported back to the real world in their virtual forms. Kurogane confronts Seishirou and finds out that Seishirou killed both Fay and Syaoran so they commence to duel. Right before their about to give their last attack Mokona gives off an explosion and Kurogane realizes Fay and Syaoran are fine. Seishirou commences to proceed with his final plan to call forth the I1 oni. It seems the I1 is all someone we've seen before, out singing bar lady her gave out the information regarding the new breed of oni is the I1 oni.

Episode 25: The Ultimate Game Oruhan-san, the singing woman from the bar, is officially confirmed as the strongest oni in all of the virtual realm of Outo. It is then that Seishirou's intentions are completely unraveled. Does he mean well for our group of friends? Or is there something more than meets the eye with this mysterious fellow? What will happen now that the reality has been uncovered? And will Syaoran be able to get back the feather for Sakura?

Episode 26: The Last Wish As Syaoran, Fye, Kurogane, Sakura, and Mokona arrive to the next world Syaoran collapses of fatigue due to the previous battle. An elderly woman offers her home for them to rest and also tells them the story of the castle. She tells them that if they make it up there alive a wish will be granted to them, but many have tried and died. They decide to investigate and see if it is the work of one of Sakura's feathers. What will be their wish?
