The Lucky One este povestea unui pușcaș marin care supraviețuieste celor trei detașări dificile pe care le are în Irak. El atribuie norocul său unei fotografii a unei femei pe care a găsit-o în Irak și pe care n-o cunoaște. El decide să-și întâlnească "talismanul norocos" în momentul în care se întoarce în Carolina de Nord.

Filmul este bazat pe romanul cu același nume de Nicholas Sparks (Nights in Rodanthe/Nopți în Rodanthe, A Walk to Remember/O iubire de neuitat și Message in a Bottle/Mesaj de departe).
