Peliculă inspirată din viaţa legendarului muzician Elton John, „Rocketman” este o odisee muzicală la confluența fanteziei cu realitatea, care îmbină lumea muzicii, celebrității și a modei.
Filmul îl urmărește pe Elton pornind din orășelul Pinner, de-a lungul drumului spre succes, dependență și suferință. Luptându-se cu imaginea privată, sexualitatea lui și problemele din copilărie, tânărul Elton găsește o salvare în muzica ce îl propulsează pe scena internațională. Este motivat de un alter ego de scenă, ce poartă costume extravagante și vede lumea prin niște ochelari mari, colorați.
„Rocketman” duce publicul într-o călătorie necenzurată prin viața unui simbol, cu cele mai îndrăgite melodii ale lui Elton John.
