Altfel… și totuși Alice o urmărește pe Alice Howland, profesor de lingvistică la prestigioasa universitate Harvard, soție și mamă a trei copii acum adulți, și lupta sa împotriva unei boli necruțătoare. Ceea ce a început cu un cuvânt banal pe care Alice nu și-l mai putea aminti oricât de mult s-ar fi străduit, a evoluat treptat în ceva de necontrolat și de necombătut: un debut precoce al bolii Alzheimer. Viața lui Alice se va schimba radical din acel moment, devenind o avalanșă de momente zguduitoare, de un realism teribil, dar și clipe emoționante, în care cu greu îți stăpânești lacrimile.
