Îndrăgitul duet Will Ferrell - John C. Reilly revine într-o nouă comedie: Holmes & Watson, povestea super-detectivului Sherlock Holmes și a asistentului său, dr. Watson, inspirată de romanul best-seller al lui Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
De data aceasta, Sherlock Holmes și dr. Watson au o misiune regală: salvarea Reginei! Maleficul Moriartya revenit în scenă, iar inspectorul Lestrade, șeful Scotland Yard,apelează din nou, plin de speranță, la ajutorul super-detectivului. Se va descurca oare cu o asemenea provocare? Doar unul este Holmes! Și tot unul și Watson… din fericire!
De-a lungul anilor, Sherlock a fost personaj în multe filme, dar pentru prima dată Holmes și Watson sunt protagoniști în egală măsură, fiecare cu felul său inegalabil de a fi: oricât de genial, cu logica lui inedităși maniera încâlcită de a căuta indicii și dezlega cele mai complicate cazuri, Sherlock Holmes este cam inadaptat din punct de vedere social si nimeni nu-i putea interpreta mai bine bizareriile decât Will Ferrell. Iar Watson îi este atât de loial partenerului său încât nu se da în lături nici de la cele mai… amuzante sacrificii.
