Veniţi cu noi într-o călătorie în timp până în vremea construcţiei câtorva dintre cele mai frumoase şi misterioase clădiri europene: catedralele gotice de la Sens, Canterbury, Chartres şi Köln. Aceste "Piramide ale Occidentului" sau "Stâlpi ai Pământului" continuă să ne fascineze şi să ne inspire. Urmărim viaţa genialilor constructori ai acestor monumente şi le examinăm abilităţile şi cunoştinţele, atât de avansate faţă de contemporanii lor, încât aceştia i-au suspectat că au făcut pact cu diavolul. De asemenea, pe baza câtorva personaje istorice, spunem povestea meşterilor şi a zidarilor care au construit aceste capodopere riscându-şi vieţile pe şantiere foarte periculoase - în parte pentru a-şi câştiga traiul şi în parte pentru a-L sluji pe Dumnezeu.
