I do hope Primo gets updated and posted soon... that or map updates. It seems like those users (here and in the other forums) that used to post the map updates have disappeared. I do realize that we usually get map updates when someone pays for them and then is kind enough to share them with the online community, but I never even see those OP posting anymore. With many of the c*****ders seeming to have lost interest in sharing their abilities with forums like this, it makes me wonder how much longer we can keep beating a dead horse with igo8 and amigo. Ha, can you tell that I want something new for my GPS!!! My poor GPS devices are feeling like an old man that has erectile disfunction.... ha, worst, like an old lonely broke man with erectile disfunction. FreddySam's skin did provide a little excitement to them, but like a quick 2 minute one night stand the thrill was short lived (no disrespect to his work, I am just ready for something newer and exciting). I have to wonder if Primo will be the censored word that my devices need in order to regain the love they once felt. As is, I find mysef actually tempted to update the look of my unlocks, if not for nothing more than to give my devices a face lift.... however doing that would be premature since I would like to do it once I knew what the right path the the .exe for primo will be.... so here I am staring at my device and it's poor little limp self wondering if or when something new and exciting will be available for it. I predicted not that long ago that the PNA device and software market would be on a decline.... it really does seem that way. I can remember back a couple years ago it seemed there was something new every other week... then it slowed to months, now it seems like it's been over a year since anything new and exciting came out. Amigo seems like the last truly new thing we have seen and that has been around for a long time now.... and although it was a disappointment in comparison to igo8, it was still new. Even igo8 seems like old hat since it's been around for almost (if not over) 2 years now. God willing Primo comes available soon since I am going crazy just waiting for something new to light a fire in this forum!!! "
Nu stiu de ce dar am impresia ca in curand piata dezvoltatorilor de software GPS incepe sa se asemene cu ce se intampla pe vremea de glorie a XP-ului cand apareau tot felul de preview-uri cu "noul" SO de operare VISTA.Ne aducem cu totii aminte de parerile pro si contra si scepticii sau dovedit incaodata a avea dreptate.Stabilitatea kernelului NT a facut un succes din XP dupa crunta dezamagire cu Millenium-ul.Apoi a urmat fiasco-ul numit Vista.Mergand dupa principiul : 1 hit , 1 kix se pare ca si noul iGO cu cerintele sale hardware va avea soarta lui Vista .Pana cand o noua serie de PDA-uri dotate cu senzorul D-GPS , da ma refer la cel folosit de diversele "servicii" si armate nu vor aparea pe piata la un pret rezonabil multi dintre noi ne vom multumi cu senzorul SirfStar III sau cele cu firmware-ul A-GPS si cu "modestul" 128 RAM.Pacat ca nu se investeste mai mult efort in creearea de harti precise in detrimentul designului grafic care "haleste" RAM si megahertzi pretiosi .Stabilitatea si precizia sunt 2 calitati de necontestat ale unui soft , restul e....can-can !

Subscriu in totalitate la opinia lui SebulbA , Poate cineva din partea dezvoltatorilor de soft se vor uita si pe site-urile noastre . Intr-adevar acuratetea , precizia hartilor sunt mult mai importante in ansamblul unui soft de navigatie . Am remarcat grafica " Polnav-ului " pe care o consider optima , este frumos sa te uiti la niste imagini apropiate de realitate dar.... numai in " simulare" in timp ce conduci altele sunt prioritatile. Oricum ne "roade " mult curiozitatea in privinta PRIMO - lui ,sa vedem cine se "indura " de noi .

I remember having a conversation with Osprey once about how neither of us really use out devices for anything more than testing out new things and experimenting with unlocks and the such. Even when I do take my GPS with me, it does seem to be more to test out a new skin, or an updated version of a navigation app. I haven't actually used it to get somewhere I wasn't sure where I was going maybe once in the past year. I do occasionally purposely get semi-lost just to see how a program handles the situation, but even that has lost it's thrill. I guess more simply stated is that I am bored with igo8, Amigo, Navigon, etc. So something new, if not dor any other reason, might perhaps spark some love between my GPS and me. I guess maybe I am giving too much human qualities to my device, however it's probably only because it hasn;t offered me anything new to play with for some time now. Last night I couldn't help but remember the "glory" days of when igo8 first got released. Then once it seemed all the bugs got worked out and skins were popping up everywhere (so much new fun stuff) then Amigo came along. Throw into that mix a newer Navigon program with panoramic view, a new Destinator program (talking about D8) and PolNav came onto the scene. It was great, like every other week I had a new toy. Then the past 9 months seem to have had nothing but death. Sure FreddySam's skin was great, but other than that everything else has been stagnant. PolNav6 came out, but doesn't seem to draw anyones attention... not even mine. D9 comes out and is a total bust in terms of navigation abilities. It just seems like we have been abandoned by the companies that make this stuff. They need to throw us a bone.... My hope is primo will be that bone, if not for anything else than to livin this place up a bit. As for the functions with Primo over igo8... I agree that FS skin covers a lot of them, however there ar still some things that seem to be available with Primo that just aren't possible with Amigo skinned or not. After 2 solid years of igo8, I do think that it's time for something new... even if it doesn't do much more than change the appearance of the program. My hope is that we will see the same kind of efforts in terms of skins, color schemes, etc, that we saw when igo8 hit the scene. That and I am curious to see how NNG stuffs all this additional map information into the newer maps. I mean the maps for igo8 were already huge (especially for the US), so I have to imagine that if an igo8 map set was 1GB big, then with Primo the maps will be closer to 1.5GB in size.
I do have a question, I am not sure if you can answer it, but do you know if Primo will use .gro files or .zip files for the branding and data files. I ask because the one thing that Amigo lacks is that ability to use branding icons. I love seeing the brand because it really lets you know what you are near, as opposed to having to tap the generic icon to know what restaraunt is there. If primo allows users to use branding icons then I will be sold 100%. " __________________ "
Cea mai tare veste pentru fanii symbian este ca Igo Primo va suporta si acest OS.
Asta chiar ca ar fi bomba zilei... De unde ai informatia asta ? Din cate stiu eu, NavNGo nu s-a grabit pana cum sa scoata o pe symbian. Ba mai mult, dupa ce Nokia a anuntat ca ofera navigatie gratuita pe symbiamurile lor, parea ca nu vor sa se bage pe symbian. Am vazut un interviu de la Cebit cu directorul lor de vanzari, in care spunea ca ei se concentreaza in continuare pe a oferi navigatie pentru PNAuri...
Deci, de unde ai informatia asta si cat este ea de corecta ? Mersi,\
...se spune prin alte forumuri ca mai avem de asteptat pina in iunie deoarece deocamdata exista doar varianta demo la dezvoltatori si la partenerii NavNGo...si tot de la altii se aude ca va fi si o varianta (stand-alone) pentru pda-uri . Oricum , cind o sa apara pe piata ,nu cred ca va rezista mai mult de cinci zile pina o sa fie "doftoricita"
Ba da, la sfarsitul lui mai sau inceputul lui iunie va apare oficial si asa cum zicea cineva aici, la cateva zile va fi si lansat "oficial" aici Un pic de rabdare inca

Si vreau sa dau mai departe zvonurile de pe niste forumuri germane ca zilele astea se lucreaza la "curatarea" lui. Deci daca baitii lucreaza repede se poate ca acum cand cititi asta sa fie urcate pe servere fisierele doftoricite
Veste proasta este ca exista doar rezolutia 480x272.
