Professor David Lurie is quite the unique man in his early fifties. He sleeps with every woman in which he crosses paths with, and does so without considering any consequences. Eventually, he is brought front and center of the school board of Cape Town, South Africa, for having relations with a student. After the contreversy ends it’s boil, he moves to the Eastern Cape, where he is caught up in the mess of post-apartheid politics and learns a brutal lesson in the ways of life.
