SCREENS:
Thirty years ago, aliens made first contact with Earth. Humans waited for the hostile attack, or the giant advances in technology. Neither came. Instead, the aliens were refugees, the last survivors of their home world. The creatures were set up in a makeshift home in South Africa's District 9 as the world's nations argued over what to do with them. Now, patience over the alien situation has run out. Control over the aliens has been contracted out to Multi-National United (MNU), a private company uninterested in the aliens' welfare - they will receive tremendous profits if they can make the aliens' awesome weaponry work. So far, they have failed; activation of the weaponry requires alien DNA. The tension between the aliens and the humans comes to a head when an MNU field operative, Wikus van der Merwe (Sharlto Copley), contracts a mysterious virus that begins changing his DNA. Wikus quickly becomes the most hunted man in the world, as well as the most valuable - he is the key to unlocking the secrets of alien technology. Ostracized and friendless, there is only one place left for him to hide: District 9

a spart boxoffice ul in usa Pelicula District 9 se află pe primul loc în box office-ul american, cu 37 de milioane de dolari încasări, conform Box Office Mojo. Filmul este bazat pe scurtmetrajul "Alive in Joburg" şi urmăreşte o specie de creaturi extraterestre care a aterizat pe Pământ cu aproximativ 30 de ani în urmă şi a sfârşit prin a fi sechestrată de către autorităţile din Africa de Sud într-un perimetru izolat care semănă cu o tabără de concentrare. Creaturile au devenit sclavii oamenilor şi sunt forţate să muncească. Filmul este regizat de Neill Blomkamp. Premiera românească este programată pentru 2 octombrie.
Pe locul al doilea se află G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, cu Channing Tatum şi Sienna Miller în distribuţie. Lungmetrajul a avut încasări de 22,5 milioane de dolari.
Premiera The Time Traveler's Wife, cu Eric Bana şi Rachel McAdams în distribuţie, se află pe locul al treilea, cu 19,2 milioane de dolari.

La prima impresie filmul pare o panarama, dar stand sa-l vezi pana la urma, e chiar bun...S-ar merita si o parte a doua....E interesant ca e poate singurul SF care prezinta partea realistica a sosirii extraterestrilor pe Pamant si ce s-ar putea intampla cu ei, aici....

merita o continuare .din cate am citit pe net regizorul o sa faca o continuare dupa ce termina de facut un alt film sf cam tot in genul astuia
